Melbourne…

Filed under: General — Mulyadi @ 10:02 am

Chatted to Vaanie a while back and got reminded of how much I’ve missed Melbourne. How can you not miss La Porchetta? The restaurant with the excellent creamy pasta. Or how bout the roche, nutella and toblerone gellati from Lygon st. Sipping hot chocolate along swanston st during winter, while watching the world hustle by. The lively Bourke st, with all the buskers around. Fantastic chocolate pizza served at Max Brenner, topped off with a refreshingly cold chocolate caramel drink. The breeze of winter winds, as you walk along city. Yaara river at night, with its picturesque view. Easter eggs & rabbits from Darreal lea chocolate shop. Oh how I’ve missed ya…

With all the gd memories, the bad creeps in as well. Loneliness, a small living budget, 1 meal a day at times, crappy place to live in. All that will change now. I’ve what it takes to earn a comfortable living in Melbourne. I should be able to afford a nice apartment in the city, a nice car to drive, 3 meals a day and my own entertainment :) I’ve also found someone to share it with. Maybe now… Melbourne won’t look so harsh after all..

In a mths time, I will be revisiting Melbourne with someone special to me. I would love her to share my memories.. the gd ones of course. I can’t wait. 1.5 days to revisit my past is a short time, but I’m sure I will enjoy myself. And it will be winter. How lovely. I hope Mt Buller is kinder to me than Falls Creek was. I don’t want to fall that many times skiing down the hills. And with you around, winter won’t be tha cold anymore :)

Let the ski season begin… counting down the days that I will be back in Melbourne.

National Runway Skate

Filed under: General — Mulyadi @ 5:18 pm

Took part for the first time in this event. Nothing much to it I guess. Just skating around the airport runway. Company was good though. Was with Edmund, Glen and Kok Hong and we sure had a gd time.

Total distance skated = 16km. 6km for Kok Hong cos he can’t keep up. Don’t expect him to actually since his skates weren’t in really gd condition. Managed to take some pics and here they are :)

Woah!

Filed under: General — Mulyadi @ 4:13 pm

Woah! Its been 2 mths since I’ve last update this page. I’m just lazy I :) You stare at the computer all day long at work, the last thing you wanna do when you go home, is continue staring at the computer.

Last few weeks has been interesting. I was called back to server my reservist and it was kinda fun. It was our stage 1 evaluation, where we have external people come to our unit to evaluate us on our combat effectiveness. It was a critical year for the battalion. Me being part of the medical team, our evaluation is somewhat different. We were tested on our readiness as well as how effective we are in setting up a fully functional BCS (battalion casualty station)

It was not an easy task. With a team of 2 doctors, and 9 men including myself, we had to set up a fully functional casualty station in less than 30 mins. Being the nearest medical facility to the frontline with professional staff and equipment, our job is really critical. Our evaluation went well and we archived a total cumulative score of 87% :) To all my fellow medics, congrats and well done. Thx for all the support and cooperation :)

Work has started to pile up since I came back. I took over a new role. I’m now the deployment lead, and am in charge of all deployment activities/processes related to my project :) Its still a junior position but being a lead, I have more responsibilities now. This is my chance to grow, and show to others that I can handle responsibilities given to me. Sounds gd to me :) Taking small steps at a time…

So I also finally bought my tickets to Melbourne. That’s right… am going there to ski :D How lovely… I can’t wait… let it snow let it snow let it snow…
