Sentosa trip

Filed under: General — Mulyadi @ 1:08 am

Sentosa trip was pretty fun. Damn expensive too :( Met up at 11 at harbour front and went for lunch first. Food was cheap and good. A change from the usual fare we’ve been having lately. Hahhaha.. Went to Harbour Front to show Palm around after lunch, before heading off to the cable car tower for our ride to Sentosa.

On the way to the tower, met this guy who looked familar and I asked him if I knew him somewhere. After chatting a while, found out that he’s from class 4/4 of jurong sec. Whahahaha so coincident. Seems to be meeting so many people recently. Just yessterday, met up with another JC classmate. I didn’t even know his name but told him he looked familar. Hahaha..

Finally made it to the tower and when its my turn to buy the tickets, guess who I met at the ticket counter. A friend I knew from NS! Darn small world. Asked him if he can offer us any discounts but he said he can’t :( Oh well… The bloody tickets cost us 26 per person.. Most expensive thing ever :( Includes return cable car (sky basket) rides , carlsberg viewing gallery, merlion and fort siloso. Took the cable car to mount faber, then made our way back to sentosa.

First thing that we saw when we got to sentosa was this snake charmer guy. He had with him 2 huge snakes and we took some pictures with it. The snake Palm was holding fell in love with her I think cos it kept trying to kiss her neck and face. Muahahhahaa… Went for the Carlsberg tower after that. Nth much and I seriously dun find it worth it. Then it was off to the merlion. Halfway it started to rain though. Bad timing. Kept running into this 2 lebaneses ( I think ) girls and I always end up being their photographer. One of them is quite pretty :) Met up with this gropu of aussies too. I love aussies.. they;re so friendly. 2 guys and a lady. All of them are working at the star aquarious that was docked in Sg for the next few hours. Next destination is Thailand and it leaves only at 9.30pm so they took this oppurtunity to go to Sentosa. One of the guy is a magician and the other a comedian.

After the merlion, thats where all the rushing came in. I had to leave by then. Rushed out of Sentosa and flagged a cab and make my way back to Jurong for this prayer session held at aunt’s place. Wah really a rush man. Left at 4pm and reach there at 4.45. After the prayers and a quick meal, left again at 6 and reached Sentosa again at 6.45. Damn tiring. Cab fare to and fro cost me 25 bucks :(

Met up with Joachim and Palm at Palawan beach for a short walk. Christy was already there by then. They went to the Underwater world while I was away. Haiz.. that 25 dollars cab fare could have bought me an entrance ticket with change to spare too :( Anyway, made our way down to the musical fountain but when we got there, it was already close. Full house and we weren’t allowed in. Had to see what we can from outside, which was not much. Finally made our way back and took the cable car out back to harbour front.

Just as we got out of the tower, Palm mentioned that she would love to take a mercedes cab just b4 she leaves back home to bangkok and what do you know. A mercedes cab stopped in front of us to let passengers off and we got in. Talk about coincidence. Took a cab to orchard where Palm made some last minute gifts shopping before we went off for dinner. Saefood dinner.. Yuuuummm…

Finally got home at bout 12 plus.. Its been a damn tiring day.. Mostly cos of the travel.. Palm will be leaving tom morning and I’ll be really sad to see her leave. This week has been pretty fun :)

Boat quay/Clarke quay

Filed under: General — Mulyadi @ 2:41 am

Joachim and I brought Palm to Sim Lim square on today to shop for her MP3 player. Did not get any eventually cos could not find one with Thai language support. Then it was back to my place for dinner. Thx to my mum who helped cooked a wonderful dinner on such a short notice. Reached there at bout 8pm and just hanged around chatting. Dinner was great, and free too :) Palm likes my mum. Says she’s very warm. Hehehhh… Got a lift from my dad to boat quay after that but not forgetting to pick Omkar from the bus stop first.

Met up with Angella at Raffles and then took a walk down boat quay and clarke quay to show Palm how the nightlife is. Walked past the reverse bungee too and sat down a while to watch it in action. Palm was pretty eager to sit on it till she say the first group getting flung into the air. She changed her mind after that. Lol.. I started chatting to this couple beside me and learned that they were from Melbourne too. I love australians. They’re so easy to talk with. I just joined in their conversation and before long, we were chatting happily together :) Try talking to a singaporean stranger and see their reaction. Stuck up Singaporeans…

Went down to cineleisure after that to play pool. Om is now a certified instructor. Hahahaha.. Played for bout 1.5hrs then went for supper. Omkar sure can come up with lame jokes. For instance..

So you always go out with them (asking Palm if she hangs out with me and Joachim) in Melbourne? What do you call the group? (pauses for a while) Palm Trio!

Lol.. Kinda lame but thats him :)

Shared a cab back home with Om and Angella. She lives nearby. Just behind IMM at jurong east. A very nice bubbly girl who’s easy to talk with :) Finally reached home at bout 2. Yawn.. pretty tiring day. Lots of travelling. Got to go sleep now. Bringing Palm to sentosa tom and I will be doing even more travelling.. Nights…

Ugly Singaporeans

Filed under: General — Mulyadi @ 11:46 am

I’m pretty disgusted with some singaporeans. Here I was waiting for a train. I stood outside the yellow box drawn on the floor, which was there as a gauge to tell u where people will be alighting from. When the train was approaching, this man just elbowed me aside and stood right in front of the door. Not only did he jump my queue, he also rushed in as soon as the door open. Can’t he bloody wait for people to alight first? Can’t he bloody stand behind me instead of pushing his way to the front. Was about to tell him off but he rushed in the train so fast, I kinda lost him in the crowd. #$%&$%^((*@#!^&

So I managed to get a seat which I promptly give up to this old lady. She deserves it more than me. Standing in the crowded train, I saw another old lady standing. She’s not even strong to stand properly. Most of the time she was bent over. I can imagine how tiring it is. 5 stops down, she’s still standing. Not even 1 person would give up their seat for her. I can understand if those sitting down are as old as her but looking around, all I see is strong abled body and young people sitting down. Talk bout being a gracious city, when most of them act like babarians. I would have given up my seat but I already did to the first old lady.. :(

Been pretty occupied these last few days. Fifi left for Melbourne yest. I didn’t sent her to the airport. Too tired. Stayed over at her house on tuesday. Was suppose to play some games and watch movies but in the end, Palm slept at 4, followed by Joa. Zzzzz… told me to come to hang out and they were sleeping. Watched the brothers Grimm and shrek 2 with Fifi before I too fell asleep on the floor. Woke up at bout 11 and everyone’s gone. Lol… They were outside actually waiting for me to wake up.. Yawn…

FIfi’s house is really really really huge. Her bedroom is 3 times bigger than mine (modest estimation). It has 2 aircons just to cool her room. 2 aircons!!!!! Her parents bedroom is twice her room size. Man!!! Thats even biger than my living room… 3 storey house with 8 bedrooms!!!!!!! 2 living rooms!!!!! A BMW 5 series and a Mazda 3 in the car porch. One of the room is an actual gym!!!! Holy shit!!!!! Makes my house looks puny but its ok. I love my home :) It may be small but the company’s great. Poor Fifi has so much problems. Looking back, I think I’m pretty lucky. I’m pretty contented now :)

Went to watch a movie today at Cineleisure. Munich.. cool movie with some gruesome parts. Blood and gore. Didn’t really understand part of the movie but still, it was cool. Brought Palm to Plaza SIngapura and then the esplanade. Finished off the night with dinner at esplanade. She was to stay here till the 1st of March initially, but she’s brought it forward to 26th Feb. All this while, I thought there were 31 days in this month and 1st Mar would be on Friday so was pretty shocked to learn that she moved her flight from Fri to Sun. She’s not happy and misses home very much hence the earlier flight. I can imagine how she feels. I hope she’ll be happier when she gets back home and be with her family.

As with any tourist in Singapore, a trip to Sim Lim Square is a must and thats where we’ll be bringing her tom. She wanted to look at the mp3 players. Then its off to walk around before heading back to my place for dinner. Sat will be the sentosa trip but due to some last minute commitments, I have to leave sentosa at 4 and only join them back again at 7. Thats the best I can compromise. Lets hope it all turns out well.

So many goodbyes this week. Fiona on Wed, Erlina will be leaving on Fri and Palm will be leaving on Sun. I’m gonna miss em all. I’ve had enough of travelling for now and am happy to just stay home :) Home sweet home…

Wonderful tonight…

Filed under: General — Mulyadi @ 3:15 am

That’s the song I used to sing to her, as I strum on my guitar. My thoughts drifted back to her when I heard this song playing just now. I just don’t see the point of singing any more. Maybe thats why, these days I don’t even bother to sing at all. People say that time will heal everything. That time will make you forget. Its been almost 2 yrs and the bitter memories still refused to make way for others. I try to be happy, but yet I’m emotionally drained.

Was out the whole afternoon with Palm, Joa and Fifi. Met up with them at party world KTV at 5.15 and after an hour, went for dinner at Newton Circus. Fifi met up with more of her friends. We were briefly introduced and I can’t really recall their names now. Bought lots of food to eat and as usual, Palm didn’t help to finish the food. She’s soooo grounded now… Lol..

Fifi went off with her friends after dinner but Joa, Palm and myself went off to Raffles hotel. Palm wanted to try the Singapore Sling and that’s where we gonna get it for her. The pub there was fantastic. My kind of place. The live band was really good. 5 man band. Bassists, guitarist, keyboardist, drummer and singer. I like the way the base guitar is used as the lead for many of the songs they played. The keyboardist is superb. The singer was kinda cute the way he danced. A few caucasions started dancing as the band played. A very nice lively atmosphere but at a very high price. 4 drinks in all. 3 alcoholic and 1 non comes up to 70 bucks :(

Managed to have a nice chat with Palm. She’s feeling pretty lost right now. I wish I can help but being in the same position myself, I don’t even know how to. She mentioned something that struck a chord. About how its tiring to keep things to yourself. It would feel much better to confide in someone but a friend would not be emphatatic enough to understand what you’re going through and parents would give way too much advice when all you need is just for them to listen. Things usually are different when you have a bf/gf. I guess this is another reason why I’m so emotionally drained. I don’t talk as much as did last time.

I still don’t know what went wrong. I still don’t know when it all ended. I still feel angry when I think back. I was made a fool, played around like a toy…

Fun weekend..

Filed under: General — Mulyadi @ 11:37 am

Met up with Fiona for a movie on Saturday. We’ve been wanting to meet up but its always that none of us are free on the same day. If she’s free, I’ve got something on and vice versa. Finally get to meet up with her yesterday. Met up at Plaza Singapura at 3.30 to get tickets for the 4.50 show but all thats left was the front row seats, which really sucks. Bought 2 tickets for the fog at Marina instead and slowly made our way there.

The movie was quite all right. Some scary parts here and there but not as scary as some of the other movies I’ve seen before. Met up with her friend for dinner at Orchard after that. Nice bubbly girl who’s really very frank when she speaks. She and Fifi met up with the rest of her friends and went to sing karaoke. Not my cup of tea so I left after that.

Fifi called again today to ask if I was free to meet at 5. Told her I was and got dressed and head off to City Hall. Guess who I met there. Joa… He actually came back a few days ago. The bigest surprise of all though, was when Palm suddenly came up from behind and gave me a hug. Muahahahaaa….. she actually came over to Singapore to visit and to give me a surprise. Hahahaha so sweet of her. No wonder she was asking if I missed her. According to her, she would not come if I didn’t miss her. Lol..

Went for dinner and then for a walk around Suntech City. Joa had to leave early so its only me, Fifi and Palm. Took lots of pictures here and there and then just hanged out at the fountain of wealth. Went with Fifi to make a dedication for Palm and she was kinda touch by it. We both got a kiss from her. Hehehhh :) The message was displayed on the fountain with the help of the lasers. Kinda cool..

It sure is nice to meet Palm again. Last time I saw her was in Nov, when she passed me a bar of chocolate for me to munch on should I get hungry in the plane. She’s gonna be here for quite a while so the next few weeks gonna be a pretty eventful period. Zoo visit, night safari, sentosa, bowling, movies etc.. Its gonna be great. I miss her so much :)
