Some people just don’t get it…

Filed under: General — Mulyadi @ 6:54 pm

Someone just don’t get it, does he? He thinks he’s all mighty by hiding behind a computer, using a monicker and leaving useless comments on my guestbook. He feels powerful? Grow up dude. Leave your real name behind if you dare. Else FUCK OFF! I grow tired of your childish behaviour. Not only am I amused by your postings, so are my friends.

Are you jealous? That I get to come to Melbourne to study, while you’re just a stupid, lowly paid Mat stuck in Singapore? That I get to travel and see the world, while you can’t even afford to pay for a holiday even to Malaysia? Or the fact that you’ll never perform as well as me in your studies? ( GPA of 3.4 ) Or are you jealous I come from a better family than yours? Evident from the fact that you have very poor upbringing. Or is it you’re jealous I get along well enough with my family, while you don’t. Maybe thats why you ended up in such a sad state like thisc sos they don’t even bother to educate you. Or maybe you dun have any friends to talk to… and hence you tried to find a friend in me? Or maybe, you just want attention, but being the poor sad BASTARD you are, nobody ever pays any attention to you so the only way to get it is by coming here, and attracting the huge number of my readers. Maybe, you’re so deprived that you find excitement in doing this. I can imagine the sad state of your existence and I pity you.

From what I gather, you must be

1) A coward ( u diss me online, and wun even leave ur name )
2) Jealous ( that I get to come to melbourne while you’re just a stupid Mat )
3) Lonely ( having to resort to all these just to get attention )
4) Having an Inferiority Complex ( due to your stupidity and looks )

Due to the above mentioned reasons, I suggest you see a psychiatrist or a cousellor. Well, if you can’t afford to hire one, due to you lowly paid job, I can recomend my dad. He’s an excellent and qualified counsellor who might just counsell you for free. Email me and I’ll help make an appointment for you. In the mean time, you can continue doing whatever SHIT you’re doing right now cos I’m way too busy enjoying my life to entertain you. Remember that while you’re still stuck in Singapore, hiding behind your computer, without a life, wanking to online porn, I’m enjoying myself in Melbourne, and loving every moment of it. Something which I doubt you can ever afford. Unless of course, you sell your ASS but then again, nobody wants a piece of FILTHY TRASH.

Anyway, I grow tired of your pathetic behaviour. BANNED!

Interesting metaphor bout IT and the internet.

Filed under: General — Mulyadi @ 2:06 am

Last week, during my computhing law and ethics lecture, I came across this metaphor. I thought it was pretty interesting to actually describe the internet as such.

Barlow (CACM 34,3 3/91) offers this metaphor

Imagine discovering a continent so vast it may have no end to its dimensions. Imagine a new world with more resources than all our future greed might exhaust, more opportunities than there will ever be entrepreneurs to exploit, and a peculiar kind of real estate that expands with development.

Imagine a place where trespassers leave no footprints, where goods can be stolen an infinite number of times and yet remain in the possession of their original owner, where businesses you never heard of can own the history of your personal affairs, where only children feel completely at home, where the physics is that of thought rather than things, and where everyone is as virtual as the shadows in Plato’s cave.

Pretty true isn’t it, both paragraph. The internet is infinite, and will never run out of resources. Lots of oppurtunities too that everyone can make use of and the more developed it becomes, the more resources you have to work with. It never runs out of space. Software, can also be stolen many times over, and yet still remain in the posession of their original owners. Everyone is virtual since nothing on the internet is real.

Really good metaphor. Pretty interesting. In fact, that time was the only time I didn’t fell asleep during the lecture. Muahahaaa

Geek talk..

Filed under: General, Programming — Mulyadi @ 2:43 pm

Been coding a lot recently. Namely in PHP and C#. IDE ( Integrated Developement Environment ) for C# is really excellent. Man…. I’ve never had such a good IDE before for any of the codes I’ve written  . Visual studio has got to be one of the best IDE available for programming ever.

Imagine writting a line of code and its underlined with a red curly line if u have a syntax error. Or how bout typing out a class name, and a drop list appears showing u all the methods associated with that class  . A link list class already built in so no need to code your own link link classes. Just use the ArrayList. Dynamic memory management means u no longer have to manually free a memory space after deleting a node in the ArrayList, unlike C++ and C. The IDE is really excellent and its making me such a lazy programmer. Hehhee.. if only they have such an IDE for PHP 5 so I can play around more with the oop style.

Been coding a lot with PHP too. Been playing around with PEAR IT templates for PHP and finally getting the hang of it. Makes my codes look clean, especially my HTML and SQL queries. What this templating system does is to seperate all SQL queries from my HTML codes, and dump the queries in another file. WHat happens in the end is a template file which has the layouts and presentation, and a php file with all the queries and the programming codes. Allows you to create a basic layout and give it to a designer to completely design the page for you, while you just work on the backend. End result??? Nice looking HTML pages which is valid HTML and a easy to maintain backend. Cool..

Thx Palm.. for the lovely dinner…

Filed under: General — Mulyadi @ 10:57 pm

I had a wonderful dinner today and yesterday at Joachim’s place. Thx to Palm, who cooked for us on both days  . She cooked tom yum soup and this chicken dish wrapped in omlette for myself, Joachim, Fiona, Dennis and Gina yesterday. Her tom yum is really good. Authentic thai spicy tom yum.. Sluuuuurps….

Today, she cooked again. Her tom yum today is better than yesterday. Looks like she’s improving  She made this really nice omellete too with mushroom and also green curry. Yummy… Its really delicious. She’s a really good cook. Thx lots Palm. Love your tom yum. Simply delicious. Aunt Karleen was there today, and she too enjoyed Palm’s cooking

The new gym which opened in Melbourne Central today is huge. Nice place to work out. Much nearer to my place now. 5 mins walk instead of 10  Best thing bout it all is, it doesn’t stink. Muahahhahaa… They have this really huge DVD library too for members to rent. I got this goodie bag when I went to visit them after class just now, at bout 1. A magazine, low fat, low carbohydrate beer ( can u beleive they giving beer in a fitness place opening  ), a packet of whey protein, a protein bar, a cap and some other things. Hmmm not bad. Got some turkey rolls too. Overall, I think its a great place compared to Bourke st gym. Am gonna start going to this new gym from tom onwards.

This weekend gonna be boring. So far, nothing planned. Maybe I should start studying. Not been revising on my work due to my busy social life recently..

Skiing.. so much fun but should have seen the way I fell most of the time..

Filed under: General — Mulyadi @ 12:12 pm

Skiing was so much fun. Never in my life had I skied before. Went to falls creek yesterday with a group of friends and I really enjoyed myself. Bus ride too bout 6 hrs. Thats bad. I slept through most of the journey. Had a few stopover and I got off at one of the stop for breakfast. That was bout 6am already. Went back to the bus and continued sleeping. Woke up just in time for the bus to start making its way up the mountain. Long winding road… never ending.. turn and turn and turn.. ooooohhhhh.. Ended up with me puking in the bus. DAmn it… Iwen was close to puking too but he made it… Everyone in the bus was scrambling to look for plastic bag for me  Bad start for the day…

Finnaly reach the top at 9 and went to rent our skis. Rented water proof jacket, pants, ski shoes, ski poles, skis and paid for the ski lift. Not cheap I must say  . It was snowing outside and wow.. its really cold. Snow flakes were falling. Cool.. Only me and Joachim were skiing. Veron, Matthew, Errica, and Iwen were snowboarding. Claimed they had enough of skiing laast time around. Learned from the rental people how to put on the skis, and I was out of there. Time to get some real action.. or so I thought..

Went out, put on my skis, and decided to ski down the slope to the ski lift. Even small kids were doing it. Should be no problem. I thought wrong. I tried to ski down the slope and halfway down, I fell down flat on my face… @#$%%^&*() Arrrggghhhh that hurts… lol. The kids were laughing at me by then.. Walked down the rest of the slope by then. Put my skis back on downstairs and went to take the lifts with Joachim. Skiing is definately not for people with high anxiety I guess. The lift is pretty scarry to sit on  . So high.. Wonder how my dad would feel on this lift.

Approaching the top, everyone had to hop off the lift and ski down to the slopes. The path from the ski center to the ski slope is only bout 2m far and a very gentle slope. Kids were jumping off the ski lift and skiing down with ease. My turn came and I got off the lift and tried to ski down. Fell down again halfway and the people behind had to help me get up again. Damn.. its quite tricky. It was bout 10pm by then and I decided to practice by myself. lessons only start at 1.30

Tried to move around in my ski, go down slopes, etc.. After a while, it was pretty all right. I was doing pretty fine and looking at the map, I noticed that there was a beginners slope. The slope would take us all the way back to the base of the mountain, back where we came from. Hmmm… beginners slope eh  … hehehee.. just for me. grabbed Veron and Joa to go with me. Started pretty well. I was going pretty fast and I could even avoid people who fell down. Hmmm not bad skiing for a first timer who has had no lessons. I managed to turn left on one of the bends w/o falling down. Not bad..

After that turn, it all went haywire. The slopes got steeper and I started to move very fast.. help.. The bends got pretty sharp too. Came onto this bend at a very fast speed and I realised I didn’t know how to turn. I tried to turn but fell down instead. Bummer.. I picked myself up and continued again but less than a minute later, another sharp bend  . i tried to turn again but fell down once more. That fall was pretty bad. Veron saw it since he was behind me. I think I flew.. skis came off, poles landed somewhere else, and me face flat on the snow.. Oouch… aaarrrggghhh.. begginers’ slope my ass.. I don’t see anyone else falling cept for me…

Veron continued on and I tried once more. To make the story short, I fell down at EVERY single bend. Got up, ski, bend, fall. darn.. People passing by kept asking if I was all right. Arrrgghhhh… I never thought I could fall like that. Most of my falls were pretty spectacular I must say, with me always landing face flat on the snow. After like so many times, i got smart and turned my face when i started to fall so no more snow on my face.. Muahahahaha.. Got a few bruises from all the falls, a slightly twisted ankle and wrist, cut on the back of my hand… sigh… should have taken lessons first and learn how to turn.

map

Finally reach the bottom and even Matthew, who started out much later than me was already there waiting for me. darn it… After a few minutes rest, took the lift back up again to the top to start our lessons. Its finally 1.30pm. Yay… Lessons was gd. Managed to learn how to stop, slow down, walk, balance myself and most importantly, how to turn. Muahahahhahaa…

After the lesson finished, I was so cold I had to go indoors get something to drink. The snowfall had by then changed to hail and it was pelting me in the face. Visibility had also turn bad and I can’t even see the slopes. How to ski?? Had some hot drinks and a chat with this man I made friends with. Got to know the time was already 3.20 then and we were suppose to meet back at 3. Sigh… no more time for a last run down the slope  Wasted. took the ski lift down instead of skiing. Sigh… Day gone so fast. Really wished could stay longer.

Reached down and met up with the rest. Iwen was telling us his story.. ( yah.. all the others disregard the time and had a last ski down. snowboard actually, not ski ) Iwen was saying he still couldn’t turn and fell down at all the bends so he got tired and decided to sit on his board and toboggan down instead. 3/4 down, he fell but the funny thing is, the board continued going down slpe without him. Hahahahhaa… He ended running after it. The board even managed to turn corners and continue down  . All this with him chasing behind shouting to people passing him to stop the board. AHhahahahahaa.. stupid ass… The board continued all the way down and he lost sight of it. He finally managed to retrieve it back at the bottom of the hill, where the skil lifts are. Hahahaha…. bet people must be surprised to see a board going down hill, turning at every bend and all, without any one riding it. lol…

Returned all my equipment. CHecked myself and i suffered a bruise on my right elbow, a slightly twisted right ankle, a slightly twisted and bruised left thumb, a cut on the back of my right hand, slightly twisted right and left wrist, bruised bum. Hmmmm not so bad… Still alive and well. Hehehee… Fun.. Joachim got a cut on his nose bridge and chin and it was bleeding. Hahahaha Palm is so gonna make fun of him now.

Took the bus back and had a stop at the medical center to get me some motion sickness pills ( Dimenhydrinate pills ) for Iwen and myself. Slept the whole journey back. Nothing much happened after that. Skiing is so fun… Wheeeeeeee….. Anyone going again? Do call me along yah.. Hehehe I can turn now… hopefully
