Tale of a Guitar..

Filed under: General — Mulyadi @ 3:01 pm

Rented a guitar from the school union last week to relieve some stress. Cost me 20 bucks for a weeks rental. When I first got the guitar, I was a bit disappointed though. Its a Yamaha brand acoustic guitar. Have never liked Yamaha guitars. Got home, and started playing and I was right. The guitar was not very nice to play with. The bridge was too high making the notes on the first fret hard to press but still, a guitar is better than no guitar.

Today, I finally returned it back to the school. Playing this Yamaha guitar is making me miss my Fender Strat back home. Gonna need to figure out how I can bring it over next year when I come back to Melbourne after my holiday. I wonder if i can hand carry it in the plane. Most unlikely I guess, but I dun really trust the airline enough to check it in as baggage. What if they throw they guitar around. Hmmmm

Oh well, worry bout that later on after my exams. First Paper was yesterday and it sure is a killer. 3 hours paper and yet, I do not have time to complete it. Wasted too much time on one of the diagrams I think. Damn…

An Aching body..

Filed under: General — Mulyadi @ 10:28 pm

Went for body punp classes at the gym yesterday with Reza, Sharen and Erlina. Basically, its weights workout to music. Very interesting class. The class last for 45 mins.

It starts out with everybody getting a set of bar bells and some weights. First exercise is to me, the hardest of them all. What you do is lift the bar bells and rest them on your shoulders and start doing squats. Easy? Not really. After a minute or 2 of the same routine, my legs started trembling. To make it worse, the female trainer was carrying even more weights than me and she’s doesn’t seem to have any problems.

Then came all the other exercise sets. The biceps, triceps, back, chest etc… The next hardest thing for me is the bicep. It started out fine but halfway through, my arms started trembling and I just could not lift the weights any more. To make it worse, the trainer started to mock me. Hehehe in a funny way of course. “No you’re not stopping now, we’re only beginning. Your arms are trembling right?” I answered no and she replied “Of course its trembling. I can see them wobbling.” and everyone started laughing. #$@#%^…

Went to change after the class and chatted with this man who was in the same class. He was saying that he felt embarassed that even the female trainer was lifting more weights than him. Hahahaha looks like I’m not the only one.

On the way out of the gym, Reza and I had to go down this long flight of stairs. We were limping cos our legs are so wobbly. Halfway down, we heard a voice asking. “How’s your legs boys?” It was the trainer. If it isn’t bad enoufh that she had to make fun of us in the gym, she had t omake fun of us now. I can here her giggling away at our state. heheheh.. But still, the class was fun and I guess I’ll go for it again next week. No more body pump for me this rest of the week.

A new lifestyle

Filed under: General — Mulyadi @ 1:47 pm

Been here in Melbourne for over 3 months now. Already got used to living alone overseas. Its not that bad. Maybe a bit lonely at times. Only less than a month left before I will be going back home to Singapore for my holiday.

My last 3 mths have been a roller coaster ride full of ups and downs. 1 thing for sure, I did try out many new things which I would not have done before back home. For example dancing, signing up for a gym membership, going for funk dancing class… LOL.. that was embarassing…

Went for this funk class at the gym yesterday with Reza and Erlina. This was Erlina’s second time going. She loved it the first time around and wanted to come back for more. Reza on the other hand thought that it would be fun and asked me to come along. I was a bit reluctant though. Me and dancing don’t really go well together. In the end, I went along too.

Reached there late and tried to catch up wth all the moves. Erlina had no problems but man… was I struggling to keep up. The moves were quite complicated to keep up with. Thinking I was bad, I turned to look at Reza. He’s just as bad. LOL.. We were trying really hard to keep up with the instructor. We fumbled a lot on most of the dance moves and the instructor kept asking if we were ok. Hahahha.. it sure was embarassing.

Then came the last part of the class where we had to sway our hips. The girls in the class had no problem doing it but I think I look like a faggot trying to sway my hips like that. I guess that move is only applicable to the girls. It sure made them look delicious. Heheheh.. The class was fun. I need more practice so most probably, will be going back for more classes. Dun care if I look silly. Its good workout too.

Feeling the need to do some manly activities after the dance class, I went on to do my weights training. Whole body ache after that. Erlina was around while Reza and I were working out but she was just checking out the other guys. Hehehe she was pointing out this one guy to me whom she thought had a really nice body. Notti ah Erl… :P
