Life here in Melbourne has been quite hectic the last few weeks. Being new to the university life, I had to cope with many things, for example the teaching style and method. Everything is different from back home in Singapore.

Currently doing 4 subjects and I realiesd that even though its only 4, the workload is very heavy. C programming and Java progrmming are already killing me and still, I have to take Database System and Software Engineering. Arrggghhhhh

My first assignment is due next week and I’ve already completed 2 test . Still struggling to understand the programming techniques and methods now. Its very very different. In Informatics, C programming subject, as I realised, is not really accurate. Using a windows compiler, one can include C++ commands and the codes will still compile. Here, using a unix compiler, it is strictly a C compiler and many of my codes won’t compile. Have to relearn a lot of commands. Damn…

I still hang around online though. You can usually see me online at bout 2-3pm SG time. Will be getting my phone line activated next month so expect to see me online more often once my home line is up.

Was reading my usual problems when I happened to come across this guy’s post complaining that he lost his XDA II. Ouch!! Was a bout to pity him until I read further. He has a very bad attitude and I think he deserve to lose his XDA II.

Jimmy, one of my housemate will be going home later today in the evening. I only got to know him bout 2 weeks ago and during this time, he has been very helpful. He took the time to show me around town in the weekends and companied me to watch tv at night. He gave me many useful study tips and I always enjoyed chatting with him. Feel kinda sad that he will be going back home so soon. He just completed his Masters and actually got a Higher Distinction for almost all his subjects. Very smart guy.

Last night, Gabriel and I went with him to watch a movie at Crowns. Took a few photos which can be viewed here.

WOOOO!!!!

It sure is very cold today. Not only is it cold, the wind is so strong it almost blew me off the ground. Just as I was praising the weather yesterday, it took a turn for the worse today. Every part of me not covered by clothes was numb just from the 5 min walk to school.

Bought a movie ticket from the university union house for 9 bucks just now. No kidding man.. Student discounted ticket prices is 9 bucks. Damn that’s expensive. Back home, I would complain at the 8.50 buck tickets. Public prices is 12-14 bucks a ticket. Will be going with Jimmy and Gabriel. Jimmy going back home to SG tom. Both of them are also Singaporeans. Its only us Singaporeans who have no life here and would go and watch a movie. Hahahaha Even at home, its also always the 3 of us in the tv room watching tv. Singaporeans typically have no life I guess.

School ended at 3.30 today. Really have to get use to the teaching styles here. During the lab lessons, the tutor will come and give us some work to do and leave us on our own. He doesn’t teach or say anything. In fact, he doesn’t even walk around the lab to monitor us. Basically, he just sits there, do his work and leave us alone. Feels so weird.

Really have to get use to this.

It sure is cold today. In the morning, it was bout 4 deg celcius. Mist formed everytime I breathed out. It looks like I was smoking. Luckily, the wind was not even blowing. The walk to school, eventhough its cold, was surprisingly nice. I love the weather here, as long as the winds not blowing.
